About Psychological Assessments
WITH AIM LIFE SOLUTIONS
What if I don’t know what the problem is?
What if I’ve always suspected I have ADHD, but I’m just not sure?
What if I’m interested in trying psychiatric medication but my provider doesn’t want to prescribe without more information?
Dr. Vanderhoff is here to help.
Diagnostic labels should not be assigned without great care, especially in a field as inexact as psychology! It is important to work towards as much accuracy as possible, especially when medication is a possible treatment option. Psychological assessment can help determine if you are struggling with ADHD or anxiety or depression or bipolar or simply an unhelpful personality pattern. If you are questioning if you have autism or are “neurodivergent”? Dr. Vanderhoff is certified to assess for autism for individuals ages 5 and up. Psychological assessments are also often required for couples seeking to adopt or individuals wanting a career in ministry or law enforcement. Dr. Vanderhoff can help!
Reach out to AIM Life Solutions by phone at 641-381-5706 or by email at info@AIMLifeSolutions.com. We will return your call or respond to your email within 72 business hours to help you register as a new client. This process entails providing insurance information (if applicable – AIM Life Solutions accepts BCBS for psychological assessment and is able to provide a superbill for other insurance plans), completing new client paperwork, signing the assessment contract, and signing office policies regarding billing, informed consent, and HIPAA. Once you are registered as a new client, you’ll be scheduled for your initial intake and testing appointments. Your first appointment consists of a 90-minute clinical interview where Dr. Vanderhoff is able to get to know you and your reasons for seeking as assessment. We’ll discuss everything from your family background, your education and work history, your health issues and goals, the symptoms you are experiencing, and the impact they are having on your day-to-day life. Your second appointment consists of the administration of the various assessments we have agreed best fit your needs.
At AIM Life Solutions, a typical assessment battery is very comprehensive that allows the data to reveal the heart of the issue. A child or adolescent battery includes an IQ assessment (the WISC-V), a continuous performance test to measure attention span, behavior questionnaires completed by the child, the parents, and teachers (BASC-2), and age-appropriate personality measures (M-PACI, MACI-II, or MMPI-A-RF). Similarly, for adults, a typical assessment battery measures IQ (WAIS-V), a continuous performance test to measure attention span, and personality measures (MCMI-IV and MMPI-3). If autism is the primary concern, Dr. Vanderhoff is certified in administering the gold standard assessment tool for autism, the ADOS-2. There are times this assessment is not appropriate and other assessment tools are more appropriate. The exact battery is agreed upon between Dr. Vanderhoff and you before the assessment appointment!
You’ll meet with Dr. Vanderhoff for an hour long feedback appointment 2-4 weeks after your testing appointment to review the results and receive the report that includes the results, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations.

Out of pocket cost of a full diagnostic battery range between $1,800-2,500. Often this service is completely or partially covered by your health insurance. If you have Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, we are able to submit to your insurance for payment on your behalf. If you have insurance coverage by a different company, we are able to provide a Superbill that allows you to submit the service to your insurance company for payment directly to you. Unfortunately we cannot accept Medicaid for testing services. Because of the high cost of the service, we encourage calling your insurance company ahead of time to inquire about your coverage. We will provide a worksheet to aid you in receiving accurate information!
Assessments for potential adoption and career possibilities are not covered by insurance. The costs of these services are as follows:

Includes clinical interview, MMPI and MCMI for both parents
Adoption psychological assessment for Colombia is $1,800 due to increased requirements by their government
Vocational ministry assessment – $850
